Should You Pay For An Email Address?

There are plenty of choices on the market to create an email address, but the first choice you have to make is, to pay or not to pay?

Choosing a free email address - There are several simple free of charge sign up services available if you just want a bog standard email to send and receive mail from your your friends etc.

You'll have noticed several of the names which I will review in future posts however don't let the well known name charm you into choosing their service, there are much better services on the market that can satisfy your email criteria.

Good examples of these extra criteria include; emailing to sms, sms to email, email to fax and so on. A lot of companies will charge you for the privilege but the majority of them provide you with a free trial of around 100 emails. With these kinds of offers accessible there really is no need for the casual consumer to ever pay a penny to get what they want from an email service, though if you choose to do so, the more basic features (like the ones I listed above) are relatively inexpensively, (less than a couple of cents for around 10 emails).

Paying to Create an Email Address - Lots of people don't understand the things that can be done with email, it is not simply a text from your computer or a method of send that super cool YouTube video you saw to your buddies in the office.

Email can in fact be a really powerful business tool that when implemented effectively can bring in customers, sell new products and services to existing clients, keep people current with what your company has been up to lately along with future plans.

I would recommend that if you intend to use email as a marketing resource for your business to pay for a particular service and to ensure that it includes everything you need from it. There are lots of choices on the market and I will review some of my personal favourites in the next post.

Another resolution to your email problems, if you do not wish to use a free service is to get a domain for yourself and get some hosting, this comes with a lot of options such as setting up a lot of email addresses for different departments or staff members.

Example:

You could have an email address for you sales department, sales[at]yourdomainaddress.com

Another for your marketing, marketing[at]yourdomainaddress.com

Even a personal one for yourself, you[at]yourdomainaddress.com

There are many, many options available to solve any and every email problem that you may have, there is no reason to not have an immediate solution.
